Attention LeRoy Taxpayers: Your 2024 Town and County tax bill has been sent out December 31st for collection without penalty by January 31, 2024. If you received a tax bill and you have an escrow account (taxes paid by your mortgage) contact your mortgage company with this information. If you do not receive a tax bill and do not have an account in escrow, please call our office at 768-6910 ext. 229 ASAP so we can send you out another bill. Due to tax law, we are unable to waive late fees due to not receiving a bill or a bill being lost in the mail. All tax bills not requested by a mortgage company are mailed to the homeowners through the United States Post Office. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Water District No. 12 of the Town of Le Roy, Genesee, New York

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Le Roy, Genesee County, New York, will meet in the Town Hall, in Le Roy, New York, in said Town, on March 14, 2024, at 7:00 o’clock P.M., Prevailing Time, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing upon a certain revised map, plan and report, including a revised estimate of cost, in relation to the proposed increase  in the amount to be expended for the construction of the facilities of Water District No. 12 in said Town (“Water District No. 12”), consisting of the installation of approximately 173,000 linear feet of 8-inch water main in the Town of Le Roy Water District No. 12 service area to provide potable water and fire service and original furnishings, equipment, machinery, apparatus, appurtenances and incidental improvements and expenses in connection therewith at a maximum estimated cost of $18,372,000.

WHEREAS, while the total project cost for the construction of the said Town of Le Roy Water District No. 12 has decreased based on the revised map, plan and report from an estimated cost of $19,472,000 to $18,372,000  a difference of $1,100,000, the amount of grant funds anticipated from various sources has also decreased from $12,462,080 to $10,676,000, a decrease of $1,786,080 of  resulting in an increase in the cost per equivalent dwelling unit (EDU) from $1,034 per EDU to $1,080 per EDU; and

 WHEREAS, said project has been determined to be a “Type I Action” pursuant to the regulations of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation promulgated pursuant to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (“SEQRA”), the implementation of which as proposed, it has been determined will not result in any significant adverse environmental effects; and

WHEREAS, it is now desired to call a public hearing on the question of the increase in the amount to be expended for the construction of the facilities of said Water District No. 12, in the matter described above, and to hear all persons interested in the subject thereof, concerning the same, in accordance with the provisions of Section 209‑h of the Town Law; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY

ORDERED, by the Town Board of the Town of Le Roy, Genesee County, New York, as follows:

A public hearing will be held in the Town Hall, in Le Roy, New York, in said Town, on March 14, 2024, at 7:00 o’clock P.M., Prevailing Time, on the question of the increase and improvement of the facilities of Water District No. 12, in the Town of Le Roy, Genesee County, New York, in the manner described in the preambles hereof, and to hear all persons interested in the subject thereof, concerning the same, and to take such action thereon as is required or authorized by law.

At said public hearing said Town Board will hear all persons interested in the subject matter thereof.
